Read THIS blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

Some students make it so hard on themselves if they get a B in their class because they think that they have failed themselves and their parents.  Not all of the time it's the student that puts pressure on them, but a lot of the time it will be their parents.  Some parents will have discipline if their kid doesn't get straight A's.  Then the student is so worked up with school that they don't want to be disciplined by their parents they aren't paying attention in class and always thinking about it.  Grades are not going to define you in the future, it will be your personality, kindness to others, and your passion about something that you are determined to finish.  Quitting will just make the situation worse because you knew you had a chance to do something and you were to scared to do anything at all that you just gave up.

Do you agree or disagree with this statement. Elaborate on why you agree of disagree.

If images are on the internet they should be "free game".

I think they should because if its out there any can see it and somehow get to the image.  I don't know why people copy right things because students might need to use the pictures for projects or something else.  Some people might want to draw a picture and sometimes you can't even look at it.

What's the coolest thing you've learned in Web Design so far? Why is it so cool and how can it help you in the future?

The coolest thing I've learned in web design is making the websites because its cool to see something I made by just typing in codes and making them appear on a website.  There is a lot of different things that I still haven't learned that I can  imply to new websites in the future.  Right now I still get mixed up and forget some of the codes and to think there is more codes just blows my mind.

Define 'User Experience'. What does it mean and how does it relate to web design? Explain yourself.

It means the overall experience the person has with a product such as a website or a computer application.  It relates to Web Design because we use a lot of applications on it like Google Drive, Gmail, Notepad to create websites, and the designs of a website that people might like and something that is easy to use.  The navigation bar and a button like 'Back to Top' make it easier for people to go through the website.  You want them to enjoy the website or applications so they will keep going back the the site.

What is a resume website? What do people put on resume websites. Spend about 5-10 minutes looking up resume websites and what they are used for. Explain what you find. Include an image of a resume website if possible.

A resume website is about the person who is looking for a job and so companies can kind of see what the person is like.  Linkedin is a resume website also.  The websites show where you have worked, where you graduated and in what subject you studied.  You are the person that gets to put the information about yourself and not have someone or something else do it for you.  It can show what they have done in life or what they'd like to do with a company.

What are you doing for Spring Break?

I am going to the Dominican Republic over spring break.  It is me, my brother, my parents and the Gunnerson's that are traveling to the Dominican.  We leave tomorrow and get back next Wednesday just in time for my baseball practice the next day.  When I am home I will most likely play basketball with  friends and just hang around my house.   It should be a pretty fun Spring Break!

Who do you look up to in your life? Why do you look up to them? Tell me about them and some of their characteristics that you admire.

I look up to Steph Curry because he had a lot of doubters in his life yet he still overcame it.  Now he is one of the best players in the NBA right now and he could win MVP this year.  He always got told he was to small to play and wouldn't make it anywhere.  Just like him I have been discriminated about my size for basketball and even for baseball which would bring me down but I still tried to keep my head high.

Tell me about your weekend.

This weekend I had baseball practice on Saturday for the school.  We had it at 8:00am all the way to 12:30pm.  Then the rest of the day I played basketball for three hours just shooting and later had friends come over.  We played basketball on a small goal for a while.  On Sunday I just did nothing except play basketball for a little bit than I slept for 2 to 3 hours.

If you were the Principal for a week at BVHS, what would that look like? What changes would you make? Why?

I would make it a stress free week where there is no homework and teachers can teach if they would like to or they can make it easy on the students.  It would be fun and there would be activities that students want to do.  I would get Icee's for everyone and hopefully they would like it.

This weekend I went to the Blue Valley Basketball game and it was fun.  On Saturday I watched College Basketball the whole day and on Sunday I did nothing.

This weekend I hung out with friends and watched basketball.  On Friday I had baseball practice for my team and to prepare me for tryouts.  Later that night half my tooth fell out from it being knocked out two years ago.

A class about how to pay rent and taxes because that what happens in real life and some people don't know how to pay taxes.  It would be called Real World Taxes because that's what happens in real life.  You study by practicing on a website.  You just learn about it and what to do.  They would be different from other classes because it will actually help you unlike some classes where they say you use it in everyday life when you don't.

Color can convey a lot of emotion when it comes to designing anything from a product to a website to an advertisement to a logo and so much more. What do you think the importance of colors on a website are? What is a color scheme and why is it important to have when designing? Explain any thoughts you might have around color in design.
 
I think the importance of a color scheme for a website should match what you sell, do, like etc.  Usually bright colors get the attention of people and they might want to go there.  A color scheme is just what colors go with each other or what looks good together.  In my opinion brown and pink don't go well with each other but blue and orange looks nice to me because it feels tropical and warm.  Colors can play a big part because if the website is plain and boring no on will want to go to it again unless its colorful.

Think about the quote below. What does this mean to you? How could this apply to your life? How could this apply to your school work (especially Web Design!)?  I would love to give you less work in class if it meant you were going to focus harder on the work. Do you think you would get more out of it? Would that work for you? Why or why not?

I think you can get more out of it than more work and less focus because if you aren't focusing then you have no idea what to do with all of that work.  Also it is easier to focus on things when you don't have as much to do because you are just worrying about it instead of focusing on that lesson.  And when you focus more you can imply that to other problems that are similar that you haven't done but you have been paying attention in class and know what to do.  Kids are getting piled up with homework which can stress them out, so less work can make kids do better in school or anything.

This weekend I was sick and I missed Friday of school.  I just sat around and watched basketball all weekend.  I don't have any photos because I didn't do anything exciting.  That was pretty much it.

This weekend I watched the Kansas State game and then I went to the Sweetheart dance.  We had dinner at Gaslight Grill and then went to the dance.  On Sunday I watched the Super Bowl and that was pretty much it.

What is a website wireframe? Explain. If you don't know what it is, look it up. Find an image online to place on your blog that represents a website wireframe and how they work.

A wireframe is a skeletal three-dimensional model in which only makes lines and vertices.  It can be used as an onscreen blueprint and a different way to look at things.  It lacks color and graphics which can be a big deal if you  need to see colors to visualize things.  They use it to build things for websites and maybe used for architectural designs.

This weekend I had baseball practice on Friday night then I hung out with friends at my house.  On Saturday I mainly watched college basketball and played basketball on my driveway.  Later I played FIFA 15 for a long time.  Sunday I went to the Legends to look for clothes and other things.

All they do is just play on their phones and don't hang out with friends or go outside.  We only had a T.V. with three channels and we thought it couldn't any better.  This is why America has one of the highest obesity rates.  They need to get off their butts and go do something.

What do you find the most confusing and frustrating part of web design and HTML code so far? What would make it easier? What don't you understand? What do you understand? Explain yourself.

The most confusing part is remembering all of the codes and how they are set up.  I always have trouble doing them and have to ask people around me.  I understand why they work but it is just hard for me.  I don't understand why some of the codes are the names they are.

This weekend I went to the Blue Valley Basketball game against Southwest.  It was a fun game, but we lost.  Then on Saturday I just played basketball outside pretty much the whole day and FIFA 15.  On Sunday I had baseball practice and that is pretty much it.

Blue Valley High School is actually really fun for being a freshman!  I'm playing basketball right now for the school and we are doing really well.  Then after basketball season is over I will be trying out for baseball.  My favorite teacher is Ms. Volz because I have learned a lot from her and she is really nice and easy to talk too.  This school year I want to get all a's and b's but it would be better if I could get straight a's.

What are your thoughts on this class so far? Easy? Hard? Informative? Frustrating? What have you learned so far? What do you want to learn? Explain yourself.

I really like the class because I've always wanted to be better with computers.  I think the class is a little frustrating just because of the coding and I always forget what order they go in.  But by the end of the semester I should be able to remember the codes.  The class is fun also because I have a lot of friends in this class and we get to be on computers the whole time!

Over the weekend I watched basketball the whole time.  I went to the Sophomore, JV, and Varsity on Friday night.  Then on Saturday I watched K-State take on Oklahoma and beat them at their place in overtime by three.  But, on Sunday I just laid on the couch and did nothing besides my homework.

Blog Post of the Day:

My report card would have The Game Of Basketball because I have played since I was five years old and I have loved it ever since.  I would also have Baseball because it is my favorite sport that I play and it is also my best sport.  Watching YouTube videos would be another one because I could watch them all day.  Announcing games because when ever I am watching College Basketball I usually say the same things as the announcers before I hear them.  K-State Men's sports would be my favorite because I always try to watch every game that I can.

What principal John Tapene said was right.  You need to do things that you need to do and what the society needs you to do.  But, what I didn't like about what he said was that you need to stop trying to live your dream.  That sentence right there can bring them down and the teenagers feel like there is nothing left for them.
